Black Girl Beauty School of Careers welcomes students who are strong, self-motivated and fast paced learners who desire to learn, grow, beautify and help others. The beauty business is a recession free industry that's wide open, with unlimited opportunities!
Cosmetology is the study of beautification—the practice of providing makeup, skin, nail, and hair services. Cosmetologists study the most recent advances in hair care, skin care, and makeup techniques. They help clients achieve their beauty and styling goals and can assist in maintaining the general health of the skin and hair. Services can include hair cutting, styling, cosmetic applications, and basic skincare treatments. You get it all in one complete package.
At Black Girl Beauty School of Careers we strive to support students through every phase of their education, graduation, and career placement. We offer this course in the traditional setting on campus and the apprenticeship setting with (on-the-job training) under the direction of a licensed mentor. On campus attending our classes and working in our student salon environment, you'll discover exciting future opportunities like working for major beauty companies or becoming a salon owner. The traditional program is a hybrid educational program. All theory hours are done by online education available 24/7 from the comfort of your own home. Students must complete the 1st 250 hours of theory before working on live models. After students complete 250 hours of level I theory then students will advance to the clinic floor/level II theory and will begin to complete all hands-on practical assignments on live models at Black Girl Beauty School of Careers main campus location. This model will allow students to create their own schedule that's convenient for their lifestyle. Once a student completes the entire 1500 hours, Black Girl Beauty School of Careers will register you to take both your theory/practical board exams for a Master Cosmetologist.

The apprenticeship program consists of 750 theory (book) hours and 750 hours apprenticing in a salon/shop with a licensed cosmetologist who has been licensed for at least 10 years. The first 750 theory hours will be performed through distance learning (virtually). After you (the student) finish theory, Black Girl Beauty School of Careers will register you with the state of Tennessee Board of Cosmetology and PSI to take your theory board exams. Once you pass the board exams with a 70% or above you will then complete the final 750 hours of practical (hands on) learning through (on-the-job/journeyman) training in a salon with a licensed professional (mentor). Once you have completed the entire 1500 hours, Black Girl Beauty School of Careers will register you again to take your practical board exams.
Before you (the student) can be approved for the apprenticeship program you must present the name and facility of the tenured licensed individual that you will be apprenticing with. (There is a vetting process/mentor must be approved by Black Girl Beauty School of Careers) That individual must be willing to sign a contract with Black Girl Beauty School of Careers stating that they understand their responsibilities under the State Board of Cosmetology Law as an apprenticing mentor.

Can I get financial aid to attend Esthetics school?
Black Girl Beauty School of Careers currently do not offer financial aid. However, we do have 3rd party loan agencies that offer student loans and no-interest payment plans.

Also, some licensed professionals choose to pursue careers in the beauty industry as beauty magazine editors or consultants, while others become sales or marketing specialists in the cosmetics industry. Still others go on to teach beauty school and pass on their knowledge and skills to the next generation. The choices really are endless and new opportunities for professional cosmetologists in many different career sectors.

- Students must have a high school diploma/GED/High School Transcript with completion of the 10th Grade.
- Students must provide a copy of Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, and Driver’s License.
- Student's Must Complete Interest Form
- Enrollment Fee of $150.00 Due at time of enrollment.

- Student's Must Pay Deposit
- 2 In-take Interviews
- Tuition Loans and/or Payment Plans Are Available Through Our 3rd Party Loan Agencies After Initial Deposit Is Submitted
**All incoming students must attend an orientation which will be held on the 1st day of class. During orientation the student will learn about responsibilities and standards, the format of the program, the progression of the program, and how performance will be measured.
