Being a graduate of AACI was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life... I was challenged in areas of cosmetology in which I had no idea I could make a lucrative income. I was encouraged to complete the instructors program which landed me a position at AACI. Since graduating , I’ve worked independently at hair salons specializing in hair design, makeup, lash extensions, and eyebrow sculpting... Thanks to AACI, the sky is the limit with my career.

Confession Brings Possession
My name is Mariama Dumbaya. Being a hair braider for so long, I decided to go to school to acquire my license in cosmetology at Amanda's Art of Cosmetology Institute. I not only learned about hair but I learned a lot of life lessons. At Amanda's school I learned the power of motivational confessions and writing down my vision statement. My vision statements have become my power source of strength and keeps me grounded in my profession as an entrepreneur making sure that my going to school is not wasted. With these confessions I was able to put a picture in my mind of wear I'm going with my career as a licensed cosmetologist. At one point I had stopped doing hair, but that picture that I had put in my mind while at AACI is what kept me going.

A small seed can open big doors
Another valuable lesson I learned is to never underestimate the value of a dollar or cent. Ms. Amanda never turned down a client because of the price. Although a client may not have been paying the expensive price, she still found a way to give them a valuable service. For she believed that this very client may be the one that flood my salon with customers and I found that to be true. I learned that clients are the people that build your business. They are the harvest of souls for your salon. They will advertise you. Ms. Amanda always believed in treating everyone with respect, and pushing you to be your best. I will NEVER forget that experience at AACI.

Black Girl Beauty School of Careers is a traditional and apprenticeship school that offers a unique opportunity for cosmetology students to become licensed professionals in the field of Cosmetology, Aesthetician, Manicuring, Natural Hair Stylist, Hair Designer, Barber and Instructors. We prepare students for state examination and to exceed job readiness. We understand that the same model does not work for every student. As the world of cosmetology evolves, Black Girl Beauty School of Careers is evolving also. Our virtual educational program learning modules offer asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences that meet the skill sets needed in this evolving world of cosmetology. Each state has their own requirements. BGBSOC maximizes the full potential of our students as they strive to become professionals in their desired area of study. BGBSOC programs are designed for students to learn all nationalities of hair, skin and nails, but our specialty is Black hair care. Our model was designed to help the students who are strong, self-motivated and fast paced learners who desire to learn and grow on campus at our traditional school or alternative to the traditional post-secondary learning environment. We offer a holistic and timeless experience, with a high focus on the kinesthetic learner. This model reaches students right where they're at, regardless to their circumstances or learning styles. We use two flexible learning pathways that enables you to balance educational and professional aspirations with life’s commitments in the shortest possible time.

The Traditional School: Our soon-to-be, state-of-the-art headquarters facility, which is also our Traditional school will offer the hybrid (distance learning) theory and (on campus classroom) practical experience. This location is located in Atlanta, GA. The traditional hybrid platform provides opportunities for those who need the face-to-face practical learning experience to receive individual attention and that live one-on-one experience.

The Apprenticeship School: Our apprenticeship school offers a unique learning pathway that enables you to balance educational and professional aspirations with life’s commitments. Distance Learning (theory), on-the job/journeyman experience (practical) with a licensed professional mentor. This is a synchronous educational platform designed to help students who are strong, self-motivated and fast paced learners who desire to learn and grow outside of the traditional campus environment.

While both pathways are different, they provide the same licensing options. Both pathways maximizes the full potential of our students as they strive to become professionals in their desired area of study. Both pathways are amazing cosmetology learning opportunities that are ideal for the new millennial generation of cosmetology students looking for a holistic and timeless experience. Black Girl Beauty School of Careers is excited and passionate about educating men, women and all nationalities. The learning modules are like no other. Having the option to learn the cosmetology trade from the comfort of your own home is another level!
